Microneedling is an exciting new collagen increasing procedure. It is an amazing option for treating many ailments, such as stretch marks, fine lines, acne scars, deep wrinkles, and photo damage.

Microneedling collagen induction

Collagen induction therapy, CIT, and the skin needling process does not damage the skin or remove the epidermal layer. It may look aggressive, but is actually much more gentle than one may think.

Hundreds of tiny needles cause minuscule micro channels in the skin allowing for maximum absorption of the therapeutic, rejuvenating products introduced in the treatment process. The trauma to the skin is on a minute scale. Delivery of skin-specific serums directly into the deep levels of the skin stimulate new collagen fibers. Over time, this will act to increase the thickness, suppleness and rejuvenate the general condition of the skin, as well as lighten pigmentation, soften wrinkles, scars and stretch marks.

In response to the minuscule micro wounds, the body acts to heal itself in its own natural way. The post traumatic response of the skin is to produce collagen and elastin-two of the key building blocks of skin. Because there has been no removal or “real” damage to the existing collagen, the new formation of it simply adds to existing levels for total skin healing and rejuvenation. A great maintenance treatment, microneedling is perfect way to dull acne scars or just improve overall skin tone. Lines around the mouth, crow’s feet, and other unwanted signs of aging are no match for this procedure—results will continue for months after treatment.

What to expect?

Pre-procedure numbing cream minimizes discomfort. Downtime is minimal and dependent on depth of treatment. Redness and mild swelling, possible bruising is rare but may occur in deeper treatments and generally lasts up to four days. Deep lines, wrinkles and scars may require a series of treatments depending upon your individual skin type.
